Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America 2014 National Specialty – November 19-22, 2014
Please mark your calendars and start making plans to attend the 2014 ISAA National Specialty to be held
November 19-22, 2014 at the Big E (Eastern States Exposition Center), West Springfield, MA.
Our Specialty will be held in conjunction with the Thanksgiving Cluster of shows November 20-23, 2014.
MB-F will act as the Show Superintendent for the National Specialty. Paw Print Trials is the trial secretary
for agility. The herding trial secretary is not yet set.
The Holiday Inn (Enfield, Connecticut) will be our host hotel, One Bright Meadow Boulevard, Enfield, CT
06082 1-860-741-2211. The Holiday Inn is just 10 minutes from the show site. Room rates are $96 per
night and includes breakfast. There is no additional pet fee. The hotel has a large grassy area in the back for
dogs. A block of 30 rooms have been set aside at this hotel – the reservation cut off deadline is October 23,
2014 (3PM). Be sure to make your reservations early. Our group name is Icelandic Sheepdog Association
Bradley Airport (serving Hartford and Springfield) is located 10-15 minutes away from the hotel. Boston’s
Logan Airport is approximately 95 minutes from the hotel.
We have our judges in place. Dr. Carmen Battaglia will be judging all the breed classes, BOB, Best Puppy,
Junior Showmanship and non-regular classes. Þorsteinn Thorsteinson will be judging all Sweepstake
Some things are still in the planning stages but should be firmed up shortly and as soon as they are, we will
send out the information.
Herding – Herding will be offered at the National on Wednesday, November 19th. Details to follow.
Seminar – the committee is will be offering three educational seminars. A separate registration form for
these events will be sent out. Be sure to register early to get your early bird discount.
Judges Education will be on Friday, November 21st.
