Hello all,
There has been some concern regarding a spay and neuter bill in CA. I did a little research and discovered that the LA City bill was voted on yesterday. I was not able to find information that determines its success or failure. There is a separate bill proposed for the state. I have attached links for both below.
I pulled CA Bill AB 1634 and highlighted several important points. That bill is attached in a word document. Here is the "Reader's Digest" version for those of you who would like to cut to the chase. There are several exemptions that apply to member/breeders offered in this bill.
2. The owner's cat or dog belongs to a recognized registry or association, and either is a show animal or being trained as a show animal, or has earned or is earning a title from a recognized registry or association.
3. The owner is a breeder of working dogs.
If needed, the ISAA will provide a letter verifying membership. Please contact me directly if this is something you need. At present, it appears that only those living in L.A. City may be effected.
