10.4.09 Update - Constitution vote Unanimous
The Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America's annual meeting was held on Sunday, October 4th and in accordance with our constitution which required any modifications be presented and voted on at the meeting, a motion was made, seconded, and unanimously (25 to 0) adopted to replace in its entirety the current ISAA Constitution and Bylaws that were adopted in the summer of 2005 and approved by the AKC in February 2006 with the ISAA Constitution and Bylaws dated 30 April 2009. The voting was done by secret ballot.
The revised constitution and bylaws basic changes are: 1. Revised constitution and officer voting from at meeting only to membership voting by mail. 2. Established breed standard voting requirements which were not included to membership voting by mail. 3. Clarified officer, director and AKC delegate elections by establishing the number of elected positions, the specific starting and ending office dates, and streamlining the nomination and election process. 4. Raised the annual dues for regular members from $20 to $25. (This is the first increase since originally set in 1997) 6. Changed the date of the annual meeting from September to during the 2nd quarter of the year.
