Richmond, VA. area. Jacqueline and her two Icelandic Sheepdogs, Thorri and Angel, recently visited the McGuire Veteran's Hospital and
the visit was documented by a local T.V. Station. The video is quite touching and we would like to share it with you.

Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America
Chairman Donna McDermott

Dear Ms. McDermott

As you know, the Icelandic Sheepdog International Cooperation/ISIC is the only representative democracy when it
comes to international cooperation between officially registered national Icelandic Sheepdog breed clubs.
You also know that each breed club in ISIC is organised under the umbrella of their respective national kennel club
and that Fédération Cynologique Internationale/FCI, the biggest worldwide international organisation for pure dog
breeds, recognise all these national kennel clubs.

Icelandic Sheepdog Association of America is the first official Icelandic Sheepdog breedclub outside the above
organisation which has been recognised by the ISIC breed clubs.

Based on the problems which very often show up when different organisations and cultures meet for cooperative
missions, we would like to show our special gratitude for the respect you have shown the ISIC purpose and the
Icelandic Sheepdog as a cultural inheritance of Iceland, in the way the breed standard from the homecountry*
describes the breed.

    •        We look upon your work around the Icelandic Sheepdog in USA as a great step forward from an
              international   perspective.

    •        It is a ”milestone”  that you have implemented the correct FCI breed standard, as the one to follow in
            USA/AKC/ISAA.

    •        Our impression is that your board and committees ”walk an international road”, instead of a separate
national one, with the respect we have for the breeds´ origin geografcally and culturally.

    •        We are very positive to the fact that ISAA has joined and respect the cooperation in ISIC which has
              existed  since 1996.

We wish you all the best for the future, within your club and in cooperation with AKC.

On behalf of ISIC
